  • External microphones provide better accuracy than built-in mics
  • Minimize background noise for improved tracking
  • Speak at natural pace with clear pronunciation
  • Recording with a co-host? Start their lines with >> or @Name: — they show dimmed and voice tracking skips straight to your next line

  • Stable internet connection required for voice recognition (auto-scroll works offline)
  • HTTPS connection required for microphone access in production
  • Allow microphone access when prompted
  • For mobile: Use Auto-scroll mode (P key)
  • Install as an app: click the install icon in Chrome's address bar for a standalone window

💾 Data Storage & Privacy

Smart Teleprompter automatically saves your data locally in your browser:

  • Settings: Font size, colors, speed, margins, and language preferences
  • Script Content: Your teleprompter text is preserved between sessions
  • Local Storage: All data stays on your device (scripts are only uploaded if you explicitly use the Share feature, and shared copies auto-delete after 30 days)
  • Privacy: Your scripts and settings stay on your device. No Google Analytics, no cookies — only cookieless, anonymous page-view counts via Cloudflare Web Analytics
